This is a unique and flexible approach to learning, as the student can choose from a catalog of modules focusing on practice nursing skills such as long-term conditions, acute management of patients, treatment room skills, leadership skills, and non-medical prescribing. The rationale for this course is based around the national agenda identified in the Five Year Forward (NHS England, 2014) and the implementation of the General Practice Nursing Standards (Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), 2015). A key benefit of the€¯course is that it aligns with the District Nursing and General Practice Nursing: Education and Career Framework (Health Education England, 2015).
