The postgraduate certificate National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) is mandatory for all SENCOs who are new to the role since 2009 and must be achieved within three years of taking up the post. This program consists of two academic 30-credit Masters modules (EDM746 and EDM747) and one year-long non-credit-bearing module (EDM748) which supports the completion of a professional portfolio of evidence designed to meet all the learning outcomes of the National Award.
Our Postgraduate provision will be run online, with some face-to-face tutorials where required. The on-campus elements will vary depending on each tutor and will be discussed with students beforehand.
An Honours degree in a relevant subject area from a UK university or an overseas university agreed by NARIC as equivalent and subject to IELTS and EU requirements

Hold the post of Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo)
Complete the Postgraduate Certificate National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination within 5 years of completing EDM746 and EDM747 or be studying EDM746 and EDM747 at the same time as completing EDM748.
