Course Overview

The Journalism course recognizes the value of developing relevant skills throughout your studies with a particular focus on enhancing your ability to adapt to ever-changing environments within a fast-moving industry.

Studying Combination Journalism modules will allow you to develop key transferable skills such as written and oral communication, and digital and technical knowledge.

We focus on skills that prepare you to hit the ground running, should you choose to enter the journalism industry or related professions.

General Eligibility

GCE A Level:

112 UCAS points from GCE A Levels or equivalent. Typical offer - BCC-BBC including Humanities-based essay writing subjects such as English Literature, English Language, English Language & Literature, Philosophy, Religious Studies, History, or Classical Civilisation.

BTEC:

Accepted in combination with one of the Level subjects specified above.

Irish/Scottish Highers:

Irish Highers - H3, H3, H3, H3, H4 including H3 in English

Scottish Highers - BBBB including English

International Baccalaureate:

26 points, including 5 in HL English

Access requirements:

Access to HE Diploma, to include 45 credits at level 3, 30 of which must be at Merit (including 15 in English Language or English Literature)

OCR:

Accepted in combination with one of the Level subjects specified above.

Extra Information / General Entry Requirements:

Welsh Baccalaureate (core) and Level General Studies will be recognized in our offer. We will also consider a combination of A Levels and BTECs/OCRs.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
