In this course, youll gain an in-depth understanding of educational theories, policies, and practices. At the same time, youll explore how these apply to real-world issues surrounding the educational inclusion of deaf learners. The course combines modules on Deaf Studies and Education. The Deaf Studies modules explore the history, education, culture, community, and language of Deaf people, and youll study British Sign Language. In the Education modules, youll take an in-depth look at issues involving learning, diversity, and inclusion in the education system, vulnerable learners, and aspects of current education policy in England.
