The MCh enables experienced, qualified doctors to develop an evidence-based approach to health care practice and to obtain a postgraduate qualification whilst enhancing their surgical clinical expertise.
This MCh in Aesthetic Facial Surgery will provide the surgical trainee with the knowledge and skills to not only be a competent surgeon but also to be surgeons of the future who are innovative, proactive, and who challenge the robustness of the evidence base alongside conducting their own research. It is aimed at surgical trainees from the UK and abroad with the emphasis on taking their newly acquired skills and knowledge back to their clinical practices, whether this is in the UK or in their home country.
Surgical trainees will benefit from the large portfolio of innovative research and scientific insight into current and emerging surgical innovations (big data and genomic medicine; regenerative medicine; cell-based therapies; bioinformatics; translational surgery; robotics and virtual reality) and inform clinical practice for championing patient care and safety. The world of surgery is embarking on a time of innovation and change that promises to bring huge benefits to patients.
For the MCh in Surgery (Aesthetic Facial Surgery) all entrants must hold a primary medical qualification that has been listed on the World Directory of Medical Schools AND has a minimum of 2 years of training in plastic surgery/maxillo-facial surgery or otorhinolaryngology.
20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
