Course Overview

The approach taken in both courses is skills and task based with the aim of equipping you with the academic English skills you will need for undergraduate or postgraduate study. You will also learn about British academic conventions and develop your ICT skills, such as how to use the university VLE and LibrarySearch. We view each student as an individual with individual learning needs and aims, and seek to reflect this in the course structure. To this end, the content of afternoon workshops is negotiated with students according to their needs, and weekly individual tutorials are scheduled to discuss students individual progress and concerns.
