Designed for those wishing to pursue a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences and related areas, this research-focused course will advance your research skills as well as your understanding of research methods and data analysis. From January until September you will concentrate solely on an extended research project, working alongside staff from our Centre for Biomedical Science Research to develop your practical expertise to an advanced level. You will have a wide variety of research options to choose from within molecular biology, microbiology, pharmacology, and biochemistry. This course will provide you with the scientific foundation required to undertake a Ph.D. qualification in biomedical sciences and related areas. It offers a minor taught element offering transferable skills including communicating science, promoting yourself as a scientist using digital channels.
Applicants should either have at least a second class honors (2.2) degree in a cognate subject, at least a second class honors (2.2) degree in a non-cognate subject supported by evidence of an aptitude for the subject applied for or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment.
IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification.
