Course Overview

 You will study a range of Modules that are designed to:

  • Provide a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the operations and issues inherent in the UK and international financial markets, including issues related to their regulation and control.

  • Support this knowledge by developing the ability to use relevant theory and analytical techniques to investigate financially-centered issues.

  • Instil a sound knowledge of the legal, organizational, financial, and technological environment relevant to the sector and develop skills in these areas as appropriate.

  • Integrate learning into an analytical, problem-solving, creative approach to the challenges and changes facing the financial services sector and its role in the broader economy.

  • Develop interpersonal and transferable skills that will enable graduates to contribute effectively in business situations or broader policy-making and regulatory environments.

  • Promote initiative and enterprise by providing opportunities for students to take responsibility for their learning.

General Eligibility

Our entry requirements indicate standard and Minimum qualifications with which we usually accept students. However, competition for places varies yearly, and you aren't guaranteed a business if you meet the minimum qualifications.

National 5 grade C in Maths, Lifeskills Maths OR Applications of Maths and English.

Minimum Offer Entry Requirement

BCCC

National 5 grade C in English.

National 5 Maths, Lifeskills Maths, OR Applications of Maths recommended.

A Level

BCC

GCSE grade C/4 in English.

GCSE Maths is recommended.

Irish Leaving Certificate

H2, H2, H3, H3 at Higher Level and grade O4 in Ordinary Level Maths and English.

BTEC (QCF) Extended Diploma Level 3

Minimum grades MMM (Merit, Merit, Merit).

GCSE grade C/4 in English.

GCSE Maths is recommended.

BTEC (QCF) National Diploma Level 3 plus A level

Minimum grades DM (Distinction, Merit).

A Level grade C

GCSE grade C/4 in English.

GCSE Maths is recommended.

T level

Merit.

GCSE grade C/4 in English.

GCSE Maths is recommended.

International Baccalaureate Diploma

Award of Diploma with 28 points overall with three HL subjects in grades 6, 5, and 4.

Grade 4 in SL Maths and English.

European Baccalaureate

Pass at 70% or above with grade 7 in three subjects.

Grade 6 in Maths and English.

Scottish HNC

Other HNC subjects may be considered for year one entry, where a C in the graded unit is achieved.

Minimum Year 2 

HNC

Pass HNC Business with a grade B at SCQF Level 7 in the graded unit.

Pass HNC Financial Services with a grade of B at SCQF Level 7 in the graded unit.

Minimum Year 3

HND

Pass HND Business/Financial Services with grades BB in all SCQF Level 8 graded units.
