Course Overview

You’ll gain specialist knowledge from experienced staff who are passionate about their teaching, and discover themes including dark tourism, film tourism, hospitality management, and the moral, ethical, environmental, and sustainability issues affecting the industry. Lectures and seminars are supported by a wealth of industry speakers and site visits. You will also have the chance to go on field trips abroad in years one and two, the costs of which are already included in your fees.

You will be offered work experience/internships and can take advantage of our exciting Tourism and Events Research Hub, which has a reputation for winning successful research grants.

Career advice is embedded in our curriculum with the help of our Employability and Careers Service. Our past students have entered a wide range of roles, both in the public and private sectors, locally, nationally, and internationally.

These include resort managers, tourist officers, destination managers, travel writers, tour managers, regional tourist managers (i.e. Visit Kent), tourism exhibition management, visitor attraction marketing, niche event specialist, and managers of their own businesses.
