Course Overview

Developed in response to a shortage of digital skills identified both nationally and globally, our master’s in Digital Business has been designed to provide you with key practical skills for the current marketplace, including strategic planning, critical thinking and project management.

MSc Digital Business is designed to help create multifaceted business leaders with the skillset and knowledge to launch innovative businesses, work in tech and manage digital transformation projects.

Combining topics usually explored in Information Systems, Digital Marketing and Management postgraduate degrees, Digital Business expands your technological knowledge and helps you develop essential leadership skills. You’ll look beyond the tech buzzwords and explore the real business applications, risks and opportunities of emerging technologies.

Greater Manchester has long been established as one of the largest tech hubs outside of the capital and Salford is right at the heart of that innovation. The North West has the highest demand for digital business-based workers outside London with over 88,000 people employed in digital tech roles. You’ll take advantage of the opportunities the region has to offer through support from research active academics and engagement with industry throughout the programme.

You will:

  • Look at how social, innovative and disruptive technologies drive businesses forward for competitive advantage

  • Become critically aware of the capabilities of emerging technologies

  • Learn to manage strategic digital environments

  • Develop the approaches and skills needed to lead large and complex projects

  • Critically explore search and social media marketing and the tools used in marketing communications

  • Gain practical and transferable digital skills and techniques

General Eligibility

Undergraduate degree

  • Normally a minimum 2:2 honours degree or equivalent or successful completion of the Graduate Certificate International Management.

  • A wide range of professional qualifications are also accepted either in partial or complete fulfilment of entry requirements.

  • Where a student has gained a recognised honours degree but does not meet the normal entry qualification requirement, they may still be considered for entry if they can demonstrate relevant work experience of a minimum two years duration post study and acceptable level of responsibility.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.

  • The IELTS score for international applicants is 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each component).
