Course Overview

MSc Strength and Conditioning focuses on the practical aspects of the discipline, covering topics including the physiology of strength and conditioning, applied strength and conditioning, contemporary issues, and professional practice for the benefit of athletes in the sporting industry. The course is focused on delivering industry-specific knowledge and is supported by a world-class BASES-accredited teaching and research environment. Your future employment opportunities across the sports science industry will also be enhanced, thanks to our recognition by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. You can expect a professional, hands-on learning experience. As part of the High-Performance Coaching module, you will work with a client and analyze their personal coaching practice, giving you real experience that can apply in your future career. This practical knowledge will also help you stand out to prospective employers.

General Eligibility

A minimum of a 2:2 honors degree in a relevant subject area such as sports science, sports performance, and coaching, physical education, physiotherapy, or an honors degree in another discipline which includes anatomy and physiology. Work experience in a relevant field and/or a professional qualification may also be considered. Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)/Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) will be considered on an individual basis: applicants may be required to submit a professional portfolio to demonstrate their suitability for the course.
