Course Overview

Our course provides the knowledge, values, and skills you will need to qualify as a social worker. But social work isnt just about what you learn: its also about who you are. You will need qualities such as patience, honesty, sensitivity, tolerance, persistence, and sound judgment. As a student, you will train to assess peoples circumstances and needs. Working alongside other professionals, you will plan, provide, review, and evaluate services. You will become skilled in problem-solving, and understand how to set up supportive activities with individuals, families, groups, and communities. Learning to assess the risks facing vulnerable children or adults, and how to set up and measure protection plans for them will be key. You will also gain a thorough understanding of your legal powers and duties.

General Eligibility

UK 5 GCSE passes at grade 3 or above (for GCSE's taken prior to 2017 a grade E will be accepted) plus evidence of having attempted two years of post GCSE study. 19 points for International Baccalaureate. (EU & International nationals ONLY): 40. UCAS Tariff points at A/AS level. For A levels taken prior to 2017, the requirement is 100 tariff points. 22 points for International Baccalaureate.
