Course Overview

This course is designed to give you the best possible start to a career in the sector, taking full advantage of our prime location in one of the world's most incredible tourist destinations.

The course is designed with your career in mind; the Institute of Hospitality accredits it and you'll benefit from placements and guest lectures with industry leaders across London.

The University of East London is conveniently located a short walk away from London City Airport and some of the capital's most famous venues - including the Excel Centre and O2 Arena - and learning in London gives you access to some of the best hotels, restaurants and attractions in the world. 

The extended BA (Hons) Tourism with Foundation Year is perfect if you want a degree in tourism management but don't have the standard entry requirements.

General Eligibility

Accepted Qualifications

112 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification listed on the

UCAS tariff calculator

, including:

  • A Level in at least two subjects

  • BTEC Extended Diploma

  • DMM

  • BTEC Diploma – D*D*

  • Access to HE Diploma - T Levels

  • International Baccalaureate – 24 points, including a minimum of 15 points at a Higher Level

We also welcome applications from students taking Level 3 or higher qualifications not on the UCAS tariff calculator and will assess the suitability on a case-by-case basis.

 

In addition to one of the above, you should have the following:

  • GCSE English Grade 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills in English

  • GCSE Mathematics Grade 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics
     

International

We accept many European and international qualifications besides the International Baccalaureate and BTEC qualifications besides A-levels.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

    • IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking (or recognised equivalent).
