The BA Childhood Practice is a part-time course for individuals who already hold a relevant practitioner qualification and are working - or aspire to work - as lead practitioners.
Our course is professionally recognized by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). This program is ideally suited for SSSC-registered practitioners who are interested in leadership and management.
The course is delivered in a hybrid format in the evenings, with some on-campus sessions, and is focusing on personal and professional development in childhood practice, leadership and management, and research.
All applicants must demonstrate the following:
A relevant practitioner qualification
Two years of post-qualifying work experience in the sector
Current employment in a relevant setting of more than 16 hours a week
Workplace support for their studies
* The BA Childhood Practice starts at SCQF level 8. A relevant practitioner qualification typically provides the required level 7 credits for entry. Applicants with credit deficits are required to undertake an APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) claim to be considered for entry to the course. The APEL claim needs to be completed before applicants can start the course.
20 hours per week.
