Course Overview

This course is for those with a chemical or pharmaceutical sciences background. It will prepare you for a career in the pharmaceutical industry or academia. Our Drug Chemistry MSc gives you advanced training in modern organic and medicinal chemistry. It ranges from the conception to the production of novel drugs. You will study and experience the way modern small-molecule medicine is developing. You will gain hands-on experience working within a medicinal chemistry team during your research project. Specialist topics that are strengths of the University include: bio-imaging modern approaches to chemotherapy

General Eligibility

A 2:2 BSc honors degree, or international equivalent, in chemistry (or closely related, such as biochemistry, applied chemistry, chemical technology) or 2.1 honors degree (or international equivalent) in the related courses containing a significant element of organic and medicinal chemistry, such as: chemical engineering pharmacy pharmacology pharmaceutical sciences medicine veterinary science biology biomedical sciences microbiology biotechnology genetics
