Course Overview

Energy engineers work on projects to reduce energy use or costs. They research, design and build power generation plants and storage facilities and develop processes to reduce carbon emissions and minimise environmental damage. They also carry out site inspections and energy surveys.

You learn fundamental mechanical and electrical engineering principles and develop sustainable energy and clean technologies expertise. Explore solar, wind, geothermal and tidal energy systems, transition fuels such as hydrogen, power storage, and distribution technologies.

You also gain commercial awareness, developing planning and project management skills to keep up to date with net zero innovation.

General Eligibility

112-128 points including maths (must include calculus) from any combination of acceptable level 3 qualifications such as A level, BTEC, Access to Higher Education Diploma, Scottish and Irish Highers, T-Level, or the International Baccalaureate.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • The IELTS score for international applicants is 5.5 (with no less than 5.5 in each component).
