Course Overview

The BSc Economics degree at Swansea University has an excellent reputation for producing elite graduates, many of whom have progressed to work with world-leading brands such as Barclays, HSBC and PwC.

You will be taught economic theory blended with mathematical and statistical elements. This helps to build the analytical tools, knowledge and techniques needed to thrive in a financially rewarding economics position.

General Eligibility

A-level Qualification

Offers for programmes in the School of Social Science Economics Department are usually within the range of ‘ABB-BBB’ or equivalent.

All applications are considered individually, with GCSE grades, AS Level subjects and grades, work experience, references and personal statements taken into account.

Variable offers are made dependent on the subjects studied.

No A-level in Business, Economics, Maths or Accounting/Finance is required. We do not consider General Studies as an A-level subject for offer purposes. Students may combine A-levels with other qualifications below. GCSE Maths and English minimum C grades are also required.

International Baccalaureate

The School will offer students a predicted (or achieved) IB of 32-33 or higher.

Part Time Work Details

Twenty hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

• Non-native English speakers must achieve 6.0 overall with no component less than 5.5 in IELTS or equivalent tests.
