Course Overview

History shapes our world, and an understanding of the key social, cultural, political, and economic changes which have impacted society will help you to become a critically informed and globally engaged citizen. During this degree, you will explore histories of social change, political activism, war, conflict and genocide, crime and punishment, feminism and gender, empire, and race. You will consider local, national, and global approaches to the study of the past. Located at the heart of heritage and culture in the capital, you will learn about, experience, and create public history. You will also have the opportunity to apply this knowledge through a work placement which will help you to pursue a career based on your degree. Using innovative approaches to teaching delivered by experts in their field, you will engage in lectures, interactive seminars, object-based learning, site visits, group work, debate, and independent research. This will equip you with the analytical, communication, and people skills required to succeed within the workplace.

General Eligibility

A Level BCC or: BTEC National Diploma MMM or: Access to HE qualifications with 9 Distinctions and 36 Merits or: Equivalent Level 3 qualifications worth 106 UCAS points Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English, or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above).
