This four-year Linguistics with Chinese or Japanese degree concentrates on developing your understanding of how languages work, how we communicate, and the growth of language in the brain. You'll explore linguistics in the context of English and either Chinese or Japanese language. You'll build a firm foundation of skills and knowledge to pursue many career paths. You will be able to apply your linguistics learning, knowledge and skills to build your fluency of Mandarin Chinese or Japanese, which you can study from beginner or advanced level. In your third year, you'll immerse yourself in East Asian culture as you spend the year in China or Japan to help further improve your language skills and confidence.
A Level: AAA-ABB IB: 34-36 points
Applicants whose first language is not English require a minimum score of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent with no less than 5.5 in each of the four elements of the test.
