Northumbria Universitys BSc Biomedical Science degree is formally accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). The course will provide students with both general and specialist knowledge in the field of biomedical science, enabling them to understand the fundamental principles of the pathogenesis of disease and strategies for their investigation and treatment. In your final year of study, you will be able to select a module that appeals to your personal interests and allows you to tailor your learning to your own career aspirations. You will also have the opportunity to apply to undertake a one-year placement within the industry or at an accredited NHS training laboratory, allowing you to put the skills you have learned into practice in a real-world environment.
