Course Overview

The course prepares you to work as Graduate Sports Therapist, delivering a full set of competencies, allowing you to examine and assess injuries for diagnosis, rehabilitate individuals to full participation, as well as treatment or appropriate referral. The motivated teaching staff are well connected to the sports and research industry, with experience of working as professional clinicians within elite sports settings as well as private practice.

You will be introduced to postgraduate study and learn to combine theory, hands-on experience, critical reflection, and research evidence to make clinical decisions. You will learn in bespoke sport science and sports therapy teaching suites that facilitate your clinical skills.

There is an 80% attendance policy for this course due to Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body (PSRB).

Throughout your course, you will be expected to manage your time effectively through scheduled taught content and independent study, alongside your placement hours.

Throughout the course you will be introduced to content through interactive lectures, seminars, practical sessions, virtual learning environment interaction, and independent study. The course is structured around skills-based, evidence-based, and problem-based learning to aid in the develop of students critical thinking and clinical techniques.

The course is assessed through a range of methods, such as practical exams, portfolios, coursework and presentations. All modules on the course include a practical assessment.

Activities on the course are focused around learning and refining professional clinical skills, and students underpin their studies with practical placement experience. The university has a strong reputation for the sporting achievements of its students and alumni – as a member of this dynamic community you will have access to first-class facilities to complement your studies.

General Eligibility

You should hold at least a 2.2 Bachelors degree with honours.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • EU and international students need IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in any other component) or equivalent.
