Course Overview

The course is made up of three main teaching methods: psychological theory, counseling skills and practice, and personal development. Youll cover core topics within psychology, as well as develop the practical counseling skills you need in a range of psychology-related professions. You will be taught by leading experts and practitioners in the field of psychology and counseling, who use real-life case examples from their therapeutic work in the classroom. Through their teaching, youll study the complexity and variety of different factors involved in counseling and therapy, and the reflective skills used in professional practice. You will graduate well equipped to begin building a career in psychology, psychotherapy, counseling, arts and play therapies, and the wider helping professions. You can also go onto postgraduate professional training in any applied psychology route including clinical, health, forensic and educational psychology.

General Eligibility

1. passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Level; 2. a pass in one subject at GCE Advanced Level plus (a) passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level, or (b) a Vocational A-Level Single Award, or (c) two Vocational A-Level part Awards; 3. a Vocational A-Level Double Award; or 4. a Vocational A-Level Single Award plus (a) two Vocational A-Level part Awards, or (b) passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level; or 5. a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma; or 6. a Scottish Certificate of Education with (a) passes in five subjects, including at least three at Higher grade, or (b) passes in four subjects all at Higher grade or New Higher grade; or 7. the full Diploma of the International Baccalaureate; or 8. an Irish Leaving Certificate with passes in four subjects at Grade C at the Higher level.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.

  • 1. GCSE requirement: Maths, Grade C 2.IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each component
