This course is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science, and offers a strong scientific foundation in the biological aspects of health and disease, ready for building a career in the health sciences. This accredited degree can lead to State Registration as professional Biomedical Scientist, by the Health and Care Professions Council. You will develop your knowledge in the essential functions of life, by studying cell biology and molecular biology; and gain an understanding of areas such as pharmacology, the branch of medicine concerned with the use and effect of drugs; and immunology, which studies all aspects of the immune system. Theres also an opportunity to explore the relationship between nutrition and health.
1. passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Level; 2. a pass in one subject at GCE Advanced Level plus (a) passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level, or (b) a Vocational A-Level Single Award, or (c) two Vocational A-Level part Awards; 3. a Vocational A-Level Double Award; or 4. a Vocational A-Level Single Award plus (a) two Vocational A-Level part Awards, or (b) passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level; or 5. a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma; or 6. a Scottish Certificate of Education with (a) passes in five subjects, including at least three at Higher grade, or (b) passes in four subjects all at Higher grade or New Higher grade; or 7. the full Diploma of the International Baccalaureate; or 8.an Irish Leaving Certificate with passes in four subjects at Grade C at the Higher level.
