Course Overview

You will develop your skills and understanding right across the biological disciplines, from core aspects of animal and plant biology via the diversity and evolution of life, right to cutting-edge developments within the fields of biotechnology, climate change, antimicrobial resistance, and molecular ecology. This degree provides opportunities to work in our state-of-the-art laboratories, participate in field trips in the UK and abroad, and conduct your own research project. We offer exciting modules such as Chemistry of Life, where you will work in the lab to study the structure, evolution, and biochemistry of the cell; Comparative Zoology, where you will learn about vertebrate anatomy, physiology, and development; and The Brain in Health and Disease, where you will gain valuable insight into neurobiology and the very latest developments in brain research.

General Eligibility

1. passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Level; 2. a pass in one subject at GCE Advanced Level plus (a) passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level, or (b) a Vocational A-Level Single Award, or (c) two Vocational A-Level part Awards; 3. a Vocational A-Level Double Award; or 4. a Vocational A-Level Single Award plus (a) two Vocational A-Level part Awards, or (b) passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level; or 5. a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma; or 6. a Scottish Certificate of Education with (a) passes in five subjects, including at least three at a Higher grade, or (b) passes in four subjects all at a Higher grade or New Higher grade; or 7. the full Diploma of the International Baccalaureate; or 8. an Irish Leaving Certificate with passes in four subjects at Grade C at the Higher level.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.
