Course Overview

Our MA course will familiarise you with the contemporary debates and policy initiatives surrounding the identification and protection of vulnerable populations. The course will guide you through the factors that lead to societies constructing and recognizing categories of vulnerability, eventual legislative responses, and practical protection. You'll reflect critically on the identification of people and populations who are most at risk and gain an understanding of the relevance and practicality of resilience strategies. This course will enable you to view a range of adult and child safeguarding interventions from the perspectives of cultural violence to the criminalization of the vulnerable. You'll understand how social inequalities and health care problems impact vulnerable populations and learn to employ research methodologies for the evaluation of violence and institutional abuse.

General Eligibility

A minimum of a lower second class (2.2) honors degree in a relevant discipline of social sciences such as criminology, sociology, law or psychology or possess relevant professional qualifications. a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
