Course Overview

This MEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree is a four-year course. It's a fast track to the top of the Electronic Engineering profession. 

Electrical & electronic engineering is a specialist degree that will equip you will the skills you need to address electrical and digital electronics issues. You will develop new digital products to solve global issues. You will get an insight into the technology-related economy, and see how it is drastically shifting towards electrically or electronically controlled autonomous digital systems, smart communication devices, automation and robotics, controlled remotely via smart technology using green energy resources. 

This course will combine principles from electronics, electronics, control, power, automation and robotics to design, manufacture and test smart and cognitive systems and devices, which utilise a combination of these disciplines. 

You will learn how applications, systems and devices are needed to interact with objects, register where they are and perform tasks such are moving them to a specific position.

In this programme, students are taught about engineering processes, designing products, analogue and digital electronics, energy harvesting technologies and a combination of these disciplines.

You may also complete an optional placement year which enables you to get experience in a real working environment and put theory into practice. 

General Eligibility

A Level: Including passes at A2 in at least two subjects. Must include Maths and Physics or Electronics.

BTEC: Extended Diploma or Diploma in a related subject. Must include distinctions in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics.

International Baccalaureate: Diploma with 27 points including a minimum of 15 points at Higher Level and must include Maths and Physics at Higher Level.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing and Speaking; 5.5 in Reading and Listening (or recognised equivalent).
