Course Overview

Psychology degree courses at the University of Strathclyde are popular with our undergraduates. Studying with us, you'll look at conditions of human behaviour – how we learn, remember, coordinate our actions and interact with others – and the reasons for individual differences, such as personality or intelligence.

As well as careers as professional psychologists, psychology graduates have many options. Many go on to further study or employment in teaching, human resource management, social work, etc.

Due to the popularity of this undergraduate course and performance criteria for entry into Honours (Year 4), the numbers admitted to Years 2 and 3 of the courses are limited.

General Eligibility

A Levels

Year 1 entry: ABB-BBB
Year 2 entry: AAA-ABB

(GCSE English Language 6/B or Literature 6/B, GCSE Maths 4/C)

International Baccalaureate

Year 1 entry: 32-30
Year 2 entry:  36-32

HNC

Year 1 entry

Social Sciences: A in Graded Unit; Maths National 5 B, or equivalent

HND

Social Sciences:

AAB in Graded Units may enable second-year entry to Psychology with History or Politics & International Relations with six HNC/HND credits in each subject.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

• IELTS 6.5 overall (no individual band less than 5.5)
