Our degree will give you the opportunity to study two interrelated subjects, providing you with a comprehensive knowledge of the key areas of economics and accounting. You will be introduced to techniques of accounting, such as financial reporting, management accounting, auditing and taxation. If you choose to take our Economics and Accounting BSc you will have the opportunity to gain exemptions from certain professional exams through CIMA, ACCA and ACA (offered by the ICAEW), giving you a head-start in a career in accountancy. These exemptions are dependent upon the satisfactory completion of certain modules. An optional year studying abroad or undertaking an industry placement will enhance your skills and build your professional network. Your time with us will also equip you with the research techniques that are vital to postgraduate study.
A/AS-levels: ABB. Two AS-levels considered in place of one A-level. General Studies or Critical Thinking not included. Own language may be considered.
IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If your first language is not English, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability. If you do not yet meet our requirements, our English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) offers a range of courses to help you to improve your English to the necessary standard.
