Course Overview

This course was developed in response to the demand for design engineers who can design and assess new ships and offshore structures.

You'll be introduced to ultimate strength, fatigue and design concepts for structural components of ships and offshore floating systems. You'll also gain knowledge of material behaviour and factors influencing offshore installations' dynamic behaviour.

The Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Marine Engineering (NAOME), a leading institution in Scotland, offers excellent teaching and research facilities, which will expand your career opportunities in naval architecture, marine, offshore oil and gas industries.

Academic requirements

Typically, a first-class or second-class honours degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant subject.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
