Course Overview

On successful completion of the programme a graduate will be able to:

• Apply a range of complex theories and approaches, including safeguarding, collaborative working, and leadership and management, within a health and social care setting.

• Develop new opportunities within the health and social care sector through networking, working in partnership, and collaboration.

• Demonstrate empathy towards service users and other practitioners through critical reflection.

• Challenge inappropriate behavior where it is encountered in the workplace.

• Work positively as part of a team, demonstrating negotiation skills and understanding the importance of effective collaboration.

General Eligibility

• Applicants must have 120 credits at Level 5 in a field related to health and social care and accepted example qualifications include but are not limited to:

  *HND in Health & Social Care

  *HND in Healthcare Practice (Healthcare Management)

• Applicants must be in employment for a minimum of six hours per week (in either a paid or voluntary capacity). However, applicants having work placement experience gained while studying HND in Healthcare Practice (Healthcare Management) may also be considered eligible for admission.

• A previous study, professional, and/or vocational experience may be recognized as the equivalent learning experience and may permit exemption from studying certain modules. Please refer to the University’s Credit Accumulation webpages for further guidance.

Language Requirement

• Non-UK applicants whose home language is not English must be able to demonstrate proficiency in English equivalent to an IELTS band score of 6 overall, with not less than 5.5 in any section in line with university policy.
