Course Overview

With an understanding of traditional animation and illustration and expertise in cutting-edge digital design technology, our graduates have found success with leading animation studios and broadcasters, including Channel 4 and the BBC. As an Illustration and Animation student at ARU, you can be sure youll graduate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities the industry needs. We work with artists, creative agencies, and production studios. They offer hands-on, practical learning opportunities through work-based projects, internships, or placements. On our Sequential Practice module, youll focus on preparing for life beyond university, creating a showreel, a website, and promotional material, as well as hearing guest speakers from some of the top animation studios in London, such as Passion Pictures, The Mill, Framestore, and Studio Aka.

General Eligibility

96 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent level 3 qualifications), including Art, Design or Media subjects.

3 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.

    You may also be accepted to this course with an IELTS 5.5 (Academic level- with no individual score lower than 5.5) or equivalent English Language qualification recognised by Anglia Ruskin University. Still, you must undertake additional compulsory free English language modules in your first year.
