Course Overview

Our industry-focused programme is designed to prepare you for a professional, managerial or business career. It will equip you with the highly-sought employability skills employers are looking for, opening up career progression and development opportunities.

Combining theoretical learning and practical know-how, you'll build knowledge on various accountancy and finance-related topics. These include financial reporting, managerial accounting, audit and assurance, taxation, law and corporate finance.

The Institute of Financial Accountants and The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants offer graduates of this course exemptions when applying for membership.

The foundation year will prepare you for university-level study and introduce you to the critical accounting and financial management contexts and concepts you'll need to progress through the rest of the course.

Committing to studying at the degree level will give you transferrable skills that can be applied in any career context, whether climbing the corporate ladder in the accounting and financial management world or having an impact as an entrepreneur.

General Eligibility

Standard Entry Requirements (Under 21 years old)
80 UCAS tariff points or equivalent qualifications (e.g. 60 Credit Ofqual qualification at level 3). 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above or equivalent qualifications. Applicants who do not meet the above entry requirements will be considered individually.

The admissions team assesses all applicants via an interview for listening and speaking, with a numeracy test and for writing via a personal reflection statement.

Applicants aged 21+
Suppose applicants aged 21+ do not meet the standard entry requirements. In that case, we will also consider those with life/work skills which would make them suitable for undergraduate study with our Foundation programme.

All Applicants
The GBS admissions team must assess all applicants via an interview for listening and speaking skills, with a numeracy test and for writing via a statement of personal reflection.
