Course Overview

As a geographer, you'll develop a wide range of transferable and subject-specific skills that are highly valued by employers. Your interdisciplinary perspectives, problem-solving skills, and the ability to research, evaluate and synthesize information from diverse sources are relevant to a broad range of careers including those in transport and planning and the environmental and retail sectors. They also provide ideal training for postgraduate study and research. Mathematics helps you to take novel approaches to problem solving and make critical interpretations of data and text; your skills will be in demand wherever theres a need for logical thinking. An extremely wide range of career paths is open to mathematicians, where high levels of mathematical ability are desirable. This can include fields of work as diverse as finance, data analytics, teaching, engineering, medical statistics, and management consultancy.
