Geology is a wide-ranging and fascinating subject. On our BSc Geology, we cover many areas of interest, including:

study of the Earth, its history and development, and the evolution of life on its surface

the processes that occur within the Earth

human interactions with our planet, from finding essential raw materials to assessing risks from volcanoes and earthquakes.

Graduates can pursue career paths in the oil, mineral, and groundwater industries, academia, or geology. Possible professions include:

General Eligibility

UCAS TARIFF POINTS:

96-120 points (e.g. A-levels CCC-BBB)

The UCAS tariff score is applicable to you if you have recently studied a qualification that has a UCAS tariff equivalence. UCAS provides a tariff calculator for you to work out what your qualification is worth within the UCAS tariff.

GCSEs:

GCSEs are required at grade A*-C or 9-4 (or equivalent) in mathematics.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, the requirement for this course is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 7.0, and at least 6.5 in writing.
