Course Overview

Youll discover and master IT applications and programming basics as well as networks and web development. We carry out regular and varied assessment tasks, often directly related to industry-relevant problems, and during the second year youll take on a work-related project. This is an opportunity for students to seek live briefs from clients such as charities, local organizations, or within other departments of the University. This course provides graduates with a strong footing for a career in the IT industry and a great taste of all areas of computing. On completion of the course, graduates have the opportunity to develop their expertise in specialist areas through a conversion course for an honors degree. The Computing FDSc is built on a number of professional certification programs including Microsoft, HP, and Cisco, which give graduates an advantage when entering the jobs market. This foundation course gives students a good understanding of the various disciplines of IT and computing. Following this course, graduates are able to further their education in specific areas of interest, specializing in areas such as programming and development, network or software engineering.

General Eligibility

A typical offer will be a UCAS Tariff score between 40-64 points. A minimum of two full A-levels (or equivalent) is required. Every application is considered on an individual basis.
