The Graduate Diploma in Mathematics is a conversion course for graduates of any discipline looking to switch to a career or further study in mathematics, without having to sign up for a three-year undergraduate degree. This is an undergraduate-level qualification that will prepare you for postgraduate study. Graduate Certificates/Diplomas typically take one to two years to complete and are made up of two, three, or four modules at final-year undergraduate degree level (worth 60, 90, or 120 credits). Graduates can pursue careers in the financial sector, the actuarial profession, IT and computing, teaching, and academia. Possible professions include actuary, statistician, or chartered accountant. This degree may also be useful in becoming a corporate investment banker, investment analyst, or quantity surveyor.
A second-class honors degree (2:2 or above) in a quantitative discipline, such as science or economics, or a joint degree containing some mathematics.
If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, the requirement for this program is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub-tests.
