Our International Sustainable Development MSc will enhance both your conceptual and practical understanding of international development with a specialisation in the areas of sustainability, resilience, disaster risks, inequality, security, migration and citizen engagement. Climate change, disasters and inequality are among the many urgent global challenges that international development must strive to address. This programme aims to develop your critical understanding of, and provide practical insight into how international development works in terms of contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals. The theoretical inquiry will go hand in hand with a practical orientation to the field, and will be contextualised within the analysis of the broader economic, social, technical and political issues influencing the field today. Our programme offers practical-based learning through industry-led projects. Students will engage with leading organisations and agencies to develop professional skills throgh the Collaborative Project, with options to undertake a dissertation or internship with industry. To help further enhance your employability, our Future Space Enterprise Hub offers additional support for engaging with partners, sourcing internships, and establishing start-ups and consultancies. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in an international field trip as part of an optional module, Meaningful Development, whereby you will be exposed to fieldwork and partner with universities and organisations in the Global South to engage with communities.
