They say a picture can speak a thousand words – learn the skills to help your pictures tell the most important stories, in print and online, on our new BA (Hons) Photo and Digital Journalism degree at UCA Farnham. The role of the photojournalist has always been crucial but never more so in today’s world, where news is instant through social media. On this course you’ll learn how important it is to capture a moment in time in the right way, how to get to the heart of an issue through your pictures – and how to bring those images to audiences around the world. And you’ll learn about the rise of digital journalism, how audiences digest news via their mobile phones and how imagery plays its part in that. If you’re an aspiring photojournalist, or you want to be a part of the rise in digital journalism, then this course is for you. You’ll be guided by our team of experts and have access to our state-of-the-art facilities within our Film & Media Centre. And you’ll have the option to undertake a Professional Practice Year, or a shorter placement, to gather invaluable work experience ahead of graduation.
