Course Overview

Combining both core and specialized subjects, our program prepares students for high-level careers in the private and public sectors. In your first year, youll cover fundamental and advanced maths such as algebra, calculus, and geometry alongside applied maths topics like statistics, machine learning, and quantum computing. Our joint honors course enables you to choose a combination of maths and economics modules in your second and final years. On this course, youll spend your third year in a paid professional placement of direct relevance to your studies. This placement will give you invaluable practical experience in a real work environment and will further enhance your career prospects. Recent placements for mathematics students have included Warner Bros, where the student worked on data analysis about movie releases, and a hospital trust where the student was working with an e-prescribing team, helping to improve efficiency for patients.

General Eligibility

ABB, to include A level Maths at minimum grade A BBB, to include A level Maths at minimum grade B (with an EPQ or Core Maths at grade B) BBC, to include A level Maths at minimum grade B (contextual offers and for DTUS applicants) IB- 32 overall points with 6, 5, 5 in Higher Level subjects including a minimum grade 6 in Higher Level Mathematics and a minimum grade 5 in Standard Level English.

  • IELTS Overall 5.5, Reading, Writing Listening, Speaking 6.0 Financial requirement You’ll need to show you have enough money to support yourself - unless you’ve been in the UK with a valid visa for at least 12 months on the date of your application. How much money you need depends on where you will be studying. You’ll need either: £1,334 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London £1,023 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses inside London If you’re applying for the Doctorate Extension Scheme, and you’ve been in the UK for less than 12 months, you need to prove you have a total of £2,668 for courses in London, or a total of £2,046 for courses outside London. If you’re boarding at a residential independent school, you’ll need to pay boarding fees instead. The amount you need to pay will be on your CAS. London means the City of London and the 32 London boroughs.
