Course Overview

The Manufacturing Engineering Degree Apprenticeship will transform learners into 21st-century engineers with the advanced intellectual and professional skills they need. Apprentices will gain all the skills, knowledge, and behaviors they need to excel within manufacturing engineering environments. With a focus on planning for the future of the sector, apprentices will become 21st-century engineers who are equipped to meet the evolving demands of the industry. This Level 6 degree apprenticeship will provide practical and theoretical training for aspiring manufacturing engineers who want to gain new skills and a formal degree qualification. This includes those early in their career and school leavers applying for degree apprenticeship roles in the sector. Manufacturing engineers will specialize in manufacturing concepts, principles, and methodologies in order to develop the skills of the existing engineer workforce. The focus is on the advanced manufacturing techniques and project management skills required to launch products on time, on cost, and to the right quality.

General Eligibility

Be employed in a job in England with responsibilities aligned with the apprenticeship Have a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including Mathematics, English, and a Science, technology, or engineering related subject Be a UK/EU/EAA resident for at least three years prior to starting the course Have left full-time education when the apprenticeship starts Be at least 16 years old.

Language Requirement

  • IELTS: An overall minimum score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 for each individual IELTS skill. Financial requirement You’ll need to show you have enough money to support yourself - unless you’ve been in the UK with a valid visa for at least 12 months on the date of your application. How much money you need depends on where you will be studying. You’ll need either: £1,334 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London £1,023 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses inside London If you’re applying for the Doctorate Extension Scheme, and you’ve been in the UK for less than 12 months, you need to prove you have a total of £2,668 for courses in London, or a total of £2,046 for courses outside London. If you’re boarding at a residential independent school, you’ll need to pay boarding fees instead. The amount you need to pay will be on your CAS. London means the City of London and the 32 London boroughs.
