Watercolour – Saturday Workshop

... United Kingdom
... Arts University Bournemouth

Course Overview

Watercolour is a beautiful medium that can be used in a variety of ways that some find intimidating. During this course you will start with the fundamentals; from how to hold the brush, load the colour, learn about washes, colour mixing and tones, as well as exploring a variety of techniques. This is a relaxed and intuitive approach to learning, with the emphasis on €˜art is for all and individuality. You will also explore artists who have used watercolour throughout history and how varied the approaches can be to fuel your imagination and provide inspiration for your own work. Your tutor, Sarah L. Goy, is a trained illustrator, practising and exhibiting artist, who is also involved in community art projects. Through her creative practice and extensive travel experience, she champions the idea of €˜art for all and aims to encourage students to explore their own creative ideas in a supportive and relaxed course environment.

General Eligibility

Ideal for watercolor beginners or for those who want to get their hand back in. A workshop which is suitable for all levels, some knowledge of drawing would be beneficial but not essential as the focus is water color.
