Course Overview

Accounting at Essex goes well beyond the preparation of financial statements. We teach you to be accountable, act ethically, and make financial decisions that positively impact both organizations and society. This course will advance your knowledge of accounting in both depth and scope. You are taught at Essex Business School, champions of ethical management and sustainable business. We believe accounting information is the foundation for successful decision-making and further develops your practical accounting skills and theoretical knowledge so you can make a positive impact in the workplace. We take a critical view of both financial reporting and management accounting so that you can be perfectly placed to lead financial decision-making in your chosen industry. You work with students and staff from across the globe, preparing you to work in international markets; our Master's students currently join us from more than 40 countries. Our Masters in Accounting aims to inspire a business-minded and socially driven Essex accounting graduate.

General Eligibility

A 2:2 degree in any discipline. Your degree must include either: One module in Financial Accounting and one module in Management Accounting in the final two years of study. OR Four accounting modules one of which must be in either Financial Accounting or Management Accounting.

• IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum component score of 5.5 Financial requirement You’ll need to show you have enough money to support yourself - unless you’ve been in the UK with a valid visa for at least 12 months on the date of your application. How much money you need depends on where you will be studying. You’ll need either: £1,334 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London £1,023 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses inside London If you’re applying for the Doctorate Extension Scheme, and you’ve been in the UK for less than 12 months, you need to prove you have a total of £2,668 for courses in London, or a total of £2,046 for courses outside London. If you’re boarding at a residential independent school, you’ll need to pay boarding fees instead. The amount you need to pay will be on your CAS. London means the City of London and the 32 London boroughs.
