Our two-year Extended Diploma in Creative Media Practice will help you take your interest in media to the next level and discover more about how it shapes our everyday lives. This dynamic, innovative course, which is taught over two years at our UCA Rochester campus, is equivalent to three A-Levels, and you can start it after completing GCSEs or a Level 2 Diploma. Youll learn about digital character design, storyboarding and narrative, and develop an understanding of stop-frame, GIF, and Flash animation. You will also increase your technical skills in photography and learn image editing techniques, and across all these subjects we'll teach you theoretical skills so you can work independently and develop your ideas. As the course progresses, you will be given the chance to focus on a specific subject area - either lens-based media, graphic and interface design, illustration, animation, computer-generated arts, or games design. This will help you build a good portfolio and gain skills to take with you into the working world, or onto an undergraduate degree where you can really specialize.
