Course Overview

Create beautiful bespoke, hand-crafted fashion and gain the skills to work at the highest level of the fashion industry on our BA (Hons) Fashion Atelier & Tailoring degree. UCA's School of Fashion has an international reputation for producing talented graduates, and this course will give you the specialist skills to create extraordinary fashion pieces. You’ll learn draping, creative pattern-cutting, machine, and hand-sewing techniques and the specific creative skills and expertise needed for bespoke tailoring, couture-inspired fashion and contemporary design for the modern wardrobe. In our fashion department you'll find the industry-standard facilities you need to expand your skills and explore your craft, and get support from a team of highly skilled staff and visiting practitioners who will help you develop a range of tangible and transferable skills with real industry value. As well as practical learning, you'll have the opportunity to undertake a work placement that strengthens your CV and prepares you for your career after graduation.

General Eligibility

The standard entry requirements* for these courses are the following: 112 new UCAS tariff points, see accepted qualifications Pass at Foundation Diploma in Art & Design (Level 3 or 4) Distinction, Merit, Merit at BTEC Extended Diploma / BTEC National Extended Diploma Merit at UAL Extended Diploma 112 new UCAS tariff points from an accredited Access to Higher Education Diploma in an appropriate subject 27-30 total points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma with at least 15 IB points at the Higher level, see more information about IB entry requirements. And four GCSE passes at grade A*-C and/or grade 4-9 including English (or Functional Skills English/Key Skills Communication Level 2). Other relevant and equivalent Level 3 the UK and international qualifications are considered on an individual basis, and we encourage students from diverse educational backgrounds to apply.
