Course Overview

Our associate degree program includes all required paramedic courses in our EMT-Paramedic diploma program, plus general education studies to provide a more well-rounded education for more significant employment and advancement opportunities. Upon completing the associate degree program, you should be able to:

• Summarize the role of emergency medical services personnel in the healthcare system.

• Smoothly manage patients in chronic and acute settings.

• Integrate ethical and legal concepts in all actions when serving the needs of diverse patient populations.

• Intervene with basic and advanced life support techniques in various emergencies.

• Express leadership as a paramedic in all interactions with patients in emergency settings.

You can transfer credit earned into a bachelor’s degree program, including nursing, healthcare administration, health sciences, and more, by earning an associate degree. It’s your career—and we exist to help make you possible.

General Eligibility

Prerequisites to enroll in the Herzing University associate degree program include:

• Completion of a U.S. high school diploma, GED, or equivalent

• Meet and interview with a Herzing admissions advisor

• Complete an enrollment application
