Available through our campus in Minneapolis, Minnesota, our Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene program prepares you with the skills and knowledge to provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed dentist.
Our goal is to prepare you to gain employment as a dental hygienist fully. Therefore, after completing this bachelor’s degree program, you should be able to:
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and convey aspects of culturally competent, inter-professional health care to individuals and groups from diverse populations.
Demonstrate the ability to define and articulate organizational, operational, ethical, legal, and managerial issues impacting the field of dental hygiene.
Generate all required documentation for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating dental hygiene care.
Develop acceptable individualized patient care plans using the ADPIE model.
Evaluate treatment options using evidence-based decision-making to identify risks and develop positive health and wellness strategies while respecting patients’ values and goals.
Prerequisites to enroll in the Herzing University Dental Hygiene program include:
Completion of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Meet and interview with a Herzing University admissions advisor
Complete an enrollment application
